Recently ive been noticing that my fps has been dropping quite frequently in somewhat crowded areas, such as earlier today I noticed going on the Zepp to Vengeance Landing my fps went from 60 in Tirisfal (which it seems to cap at 60 all the time, never going higher then that) down to like 18. I tried lowering my resolution but that didnt help, exact same fps. I lowered settings and what not, same fps. My specs are as followed:

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
Memory: 3070MB RAM
Hard Drive: 390 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
Operating System: Windows Vistaâ„¢ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.080425-1930)

I was thinking of taking vista off my computer then putting xp on, see if that would help.

when's the last time you defragged? Helped me out by quite a bit

Like never........I remember last time my mom did something like that to our computer we had to buy a new one -.- Like what exactly does that do? Im pretty computer retarded even tho I spend 90% of my time on the computer

defragging basically puts all your files into one neat little package on your HD so that they are easier to find...thus lower search times, and in games, sometimes better FPS

basically...as you delete things, move things, whatever, you are putting holes into your HD, defragging condenses everything so that it's a nice neat little package

as a, probably, bad example

current HD:

ABXXXCXXXDXEXXXXXXXXXXXF (X's represent deleted/moved files)

turns into:

ABCDEFXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (X's here would represent free HD space)

after defragging

I'd go download Defraggler if I were you.. much better than the basic windows one. Only have to run it once, maybe twice.. and with the windows one, you need to run it a couple dozen times to get it perfect

eh if you've been playing fine on Vista for a long time and this problem just came up I don't think it's Vista

I dunno personally I would start with running the basic shit like defragging/spyware/antivirus shit

maybe perhaps checking what processes you're running while playing would help as well

that defragger seems pretty damn good...i've been running it for a while now, didn't think my comp was this fragged. hopefully should speed things up, as my comp seemed to be running pretty sluggish as of late as well...pretty similar specs to durlug too

amd x2 6400+
4 gigs of ram
